April Disney World Crowds

by | Jan 1, 2024 | Crowd Calendars, Vacation Planning | 0 comments

April Disney World crowds are steadily average throughout the month—with some exceptions.  Between Spring Break crowds carrying over from March and Easter being one of the most popular holidays to spend at WDW, April can be very crowded or very manageable depending on the time of the month when you’re visiting.

April is a truly beautiful month at WDW—contributed to the great weather and continuation of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.  April weather at WDW is just how I like it… the temperature is usually in the low to mid 80s and there isn’t much rain!

April Disney World Crowds

Fairly average crowds, warm temperatures, an EPCOT festival, Easter celebrations and more are our top reasons to visit WDW in April.  If you haven’t spent Easter at WDW before, even though it does draw some pretty heavy crowds, I absolutely recommend doing it (at least once)!  From getting to meet the Easter Bunny to seeing a colorful, fun Easter-themed parade in the Magic Kingdom, to no surprise, this holiday is nothing but magical from beginning to end at WDW.

Dad’s Guide to WDW Crowd Calendar Disclaimer

This calendar is based on historical facts as we know them today, and personal experiences. Walt Disney World is an ever-changing destination and you might find the crowds, weather, or seasonal experiences to be different from what we’ve predicted.

How to Avoid April Crowds at Disney World

If you can visit after the Spring Break crowds leave and after Easter, you’ll be good to go!  Sure, some days (especially on the weekends when more locals are visiting) can get busier, but the rest of the month shouldn’t be exceptionally crowded.

But, if you do visit WDW on Easter Sunday (as with just about every holiday), Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will be much more crowded than Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

April Events at Walt Disney World

  • Easter: Being at WDW is the most EGGcellent way to celebrate this holiday!  You could meet the Easter Bunny, encounter special (rare) character meet-and-greet opportunities at the parks and select resorts, catch a beautiful Easter-themed daytime parade at the Magic Kingdom, see a display of giant chocolate eggs decorated with images of Disney characters at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and much more.
  • EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival: Food, flowers, topiaries – oh my!  This festival is known for its gorgeous topiaries of some of our favorite Disney characters, and its fresh eats from the outdoor kitchens located throughout the park. Oh—and we couldn’t forget about the Garden Rocks Concert Series, which takes place at the America Gardens Theatre (in The American Adventure)!
