The campground accommodates everything from tents to large RVs, and there are also cozy, rustic wilderness cabins available that can sleep up to six guests, complete with modern amenities like a full kitchen and air conditioning.
Just recently, Disney Vacation Club began unveiling their new 1-Bedroom Cabins, which come with home-like accommodations that can sleep up to six (with some even allowing pets).
Fort Wilderness is renowned for its abundant recreational activities. Guests can explore scenic trails on foot, by bike, or on horseback, and there are canoe and kayak rentals for adventures on the water. The resort features two swimming pools, including the main pool with a waterslide that winds through the woods. In the evening, Fort Wilderness offers unique entertainment options such as outdoor movies and the beloved Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, a dinner show that combines country-style cuisine with comedic performance and spirited music. The campground also hosts nightly campfires complete with marshmallow roasting and classic Disney movies under the stars, making it a perfect spot for families looking to create lasting memories.
Room Types
There are two different “room” types you can book. The Cabins sleep up to six and are in the process of all being updated to new Disney Vacation Club accommodations. The “older” Wilderness Cabins feature a queen bed, a double-size sleeper sofa, and one bunk bed. They can sleep up to six adults, and include a kitchen with two countertop burners, a fridge, a microwave, and a patio. The new Disney Vacation Club 1-Bedroom Cabin comes with a queen bed, a queen-size pull-down bed, and a bunk bed, also sleeping up to six adults. These come with a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, microwaves, full-size oven/range, and a patio deck.
The Campsites at Fort Wilderness come with accommodations for several different options:
- Tent or Pop-Up Campsite (room for a pop-up camper or camper-type vehicle, and up to two tents)
- Full Hook-Up Campsite (room for an RV plus a tent)
- Preferred Campsite (Room for an RV plus small tent, plus sewage hook-up)

However, there are also fun transportation types to get around the resort itself. For example, you can rent yourself a golf cart to get around the massive resort.
Horseback riding, wagon rides, bike rentals, canoe/kayak rentals, and jogging trails are also available at the resort.
