West Side at Disney Springs

The West Side, one of the four neighborhoods within Disney Springs, is a great place to head if you’re looking to have some fun. Whether you’re taking a day off from Disney World’s theme parks but want to keep the kids active with a few rounds of bowling or you’re looking to catch a show you can’t see anywhere else, this is the area you’ll want to visit.

According to the fictional Disney Springs backstory, the West Side is meant to be the town’s exposition center. As the tale goes, this part of the town was developed in the 1950’s, making it the most recent of all the neighborhoods (although all underwent reimaging at the same time!).

You can feel the exposition theme throughout the area, particularly when it comes to the number of cool experiences you can explore. From a modern megaplex movie theater to stunning Cirque du Soleil shows, this is a Disney Springs destination that also offers some fun shopping and dining options.

If it’s standout entertainment and attraction-style shows you want to find outside of the theme parks, this is where they’re at! West Side at Disney Springs is home to the following entertainment and experiences:

  • Aerophile, an 8-minute flight high in the sky via the world’s largest hand-painted helium balloon
  • AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theatres, where you can relax and catch the latest films, while dining or enjoying some drinks
  • Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney, a unique Cirque du Soleil show that blends the beauty of Disney animation with mesmerizing acrobats
  • House of Blues, an entertainment venue that hosts concerts for acts big and small (and plenty famous!)
  • Splitsville Luxury Lanes, an upscale bowling alley with a touch of retro-glam and plenty of high-tech fun

The West Side of Disney Springs is particularly great place to head with tweens and teens. Here, you’ll find options for the whole family – but the concerts, movies and chance to play some better-than-typical bowling are particularly standout picks if your kids aren’t interested in dining, shopping, or activities for the younger (and less cool, obviously) set.
